HYSSES (乡术, meaning ‘arts from the village’) embodies a pure and authentic sense of preserving nature, heritage and appreciation for the native communities that have helped shape and broaden our journey.

The art direction was warm, rich and organic with natural elements. We used dark textures and softened the look with pops of natural elements and fabrics throughout. We incorporated lots of natural textures and used hands in a couple of shots to further enhance the picture of authenticity of nature.

Many shots were taken with harsh lighting to create a high contrast throughout the image set.
